John Woodard, student in the advanced conversation class, will talk about his experience of living in a Francophone country : BELGIUM where he spent a year in Brussels.

He will discuss languages differences between French-French and French-Belgian, Belgian traditions and the cultural difference between American culture and Belgium culture.

The Theater Workshop Show

The theater workshop of the Alliance Française de Détroit presents "Les Saynètes en folie"under the Aurore Decaillon leadership, on Sunday May 14th, 2017 at 5:00 pm


The session all students of our acting class will present you different sketches by Ribes, Racine, Molière, Reza, Rebotier and Marivaux

Detroit French History Cruise

After last summer’s success, Alliance Française de Detroit / French Institute of Michigan is once again offering the historical tour of the French experience at the Strait aboard the lovely Diamond Belle 4. Cruising along the Detroit River (the region’s main street/expressway/railway of the 1700s and 1800s), see and learn about the sites of French presence and history while enjoying a relaxing summer boat ride. The tour commentary will be given in both French and English. Bring family and friends! This adventure is ideal for Francophiles, history buffs, and all lovers of the city at the Strait.
